Kim Brooks is the National Clinical Services Manager for Metlifecare New Zealand.
Kim's passion remains in Orthopaedic nursing and she is the current President of the Australian and New Zealand Orthopaedic Nurses Association. (ANZONA) and the vice President of New Zealand Orthopaedic Nurses Association (NZONA). |
Kim commenced her Nursing career in 1977 training at Rotorua Hospital as an Enrolled Nurse, then in 1980 trained in General and Obstetrics, registering in 1983. From 1983 -1997 Kim worked in a number of areas of nursing including Intensive Care, Coronary Care, Nurse Specialist roles in Elderly services and Surgical and Orthopaedics. |
In 1997 she undertook the role of Clinical Nurse Leader in Orthopaedics at Rotorua Hospital. During this time Kim worked hard to develop the orthopaedic nursing profile. In 2003 she became Associate Director of Nursing at Lakes District Health Board.
In 2008, Kim decided to broaden her scope and is now the National Clinical Services Manager for Metlifecare New Zealand. |
Kim has a Bachelor of Nursing through the Waikato Polytechnic, a Post Graduate certificate with an Orthopaedic focus through Auckland University of Technology and has a Masters in Health Practice, Auckland University of Technology. |
